Custom Image Header

Creating a custom header on Blogger using an image is super easy. Although you may decide to check our post on removing your header border once you have added your image. To add an image as your header, you will need to decide whether you want to add text to your image (this can be done easily using Picasa or Picnik on flickr) or whether you want to use the Blog Title and description you have entered on in your blogger settings. It is easy to leave the title and description there to display over your photo, but you may not like the way it is placed over your image. So instead of going into the HTML to move the placement it is easier to just add your own text and then choose not to display the the blog title. To add an image to your header follow these steps: 1. Go to the Layout page of your Blog editor. 2. On the Page Elements tab, click Edit on your Header. 3. When the Header window opens, select whether you want to use an image from your computer or from the web (ie. flickr) and then either navigate to the file location on your computer or enter the web link to your photo (respectively.) 4. Then select whether you want the image to appear behind your Blogger title and description or if you have added the text to your image, select "Instead of Title and Description." 5. If your image is larger than 660 pixels wide you will most likely want to choose "Shrink to Fit." Although that can affect the quality of your image. If it does affect your image, you may want to choose to re-size your image using photo editing software. You can do this in Picasa by exporting the image or in Picnik (flickr) using their re-size feature. If your image is larger than 660 pixels, and you choose not to shrink it, it will appear larger than your post width and off center - unless you have already made your post area wider than the standard templates Blogger provides.
